Emergo Rep. Office
PROGRAM: Interior office design
CLIENT: Emergo Corporation, Canada
SIZE: 130 m2
STATUS: Construction completed summer, 2003
LOCATION: Beijing, World Trade Center, Tower 1
Walls parallel to the exterior windows are all floor-to-ceiling glass, allowing daylight to
penetrate deep into the space. Walls perpendicular to the exterior windows are all solid,
allowing some privacy and separation of spaces. The glass panel opposite the entrance is made
of frosted glass. A colonnade of wooden columns marches down the center of the space, connecting
the whole width of the office. The glass partitions are centered on the columns, while the marble
floor extends to the outer edge of the columns.
The entrance to the office is located opposite the elevator lobby, so, at times sunlight can
pass directly through the office and enter the lobby. On its way, morning sunlight passes through
the frosted panel opposite the office entrance, illuminating the company logo.
